Aswathy Dilip is a Senior Manager at ITDP India. She manages the planning and implementation of sustainable transport projects and policies in over ten cities across South India, such as in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Pondicherry. Her most exciting work includes transforming congested roads into vibrant streets with space for all users including women and children, helping cities implement bold parking reforms, as well as building support for implementing high-quality bus rapid transit. Aswathy focuses on building citizen support for these projects by organising car-free Sundays, intersection testing, as well as street and public space exhibitions. She is actively involved in training and capacity development of senior government officials and engineers in complete streets and parking management. Prior to ITDP, Aswathy worked in Ahmedabad at HCP on the design and communication of the Sabarmati Riverfront Development Project. She is an urban designer with a Master’s in Urban Design from Cardiff University in the United Kingdom.
