Isabel Wetzel is the Coordinator of the Greener Cities Partnership, the inter-agency collaboration between UN-Habitat and UN Environment which mainstreams the environmental agenda in urban policy making. In her role she manages a portfolio on urban environmental projects globally, with a thematic focus on a variety of topics, including resource-efficiency, transport, waste, green urban development, air quality, biodiversity, and indicator monitoring. She has experience working in international organizations on issues of sustainable urban development, as well as on research, capacity building, quality assurance, portfolio management, policy development and project management. Previously, she worked on regional projects in South Asia and Africa at the World Bank. Isabel holds a postgraduate degree in Urbanization and Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is based in Nairobi.
