Paula Manoela dos Santos is the Active Mobility Manager at WRI Brazil. She works in projects focused on promoting more active and inclusive urban environments. From her work with simulations of BRT systems, Paula began to study in depth the issue of access to transit stations and the influence of connections for pedestrians and cyclists in the system’s operation. She is author of the manuals “8 Principles of the Sidewalk”, “Safe Access” and “Manual of Programs and Projects to Encourage the Use of Bicycles in Communities”. Since 2017, Paula has been working to disseminate the concept of Complete Streets in Brazil engaging multiple actors aiming to promote safer and more comfortable urban streets for all. Paula is a civil engineer and holds a Master’s degree in transportation engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul.
