Simone Costa Rodrigues da Silva has been a public servant for the City of Rio de Janeiro since 2008 and is an expert in sustainable mobility. She currently serves as the Mobility Advisor of the Senior Technical Council of the Sub-Secretary of Planning and Management by Results. Since 2017, she shifted the city’s mobility focus to pedestrian and cycling oriented projects and policies, and mobility data and trainings to stimulate innovation in public administration. From 2011 to 2016, she worked on transport projects that reshaped the city’s transit network. She also coordinated the Sustainable Mobility Plan using community participation tools and the successful Transport Plan for the 2016 Olympics and Paralympics Games in Rio de Janeiro. She has a Bachelor’s in Architecture and Urbanism and Master’s in Transport Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro.
